Our client is overjoyed with the end result of the restoration and reupholstering of their French style carved chairs.
We had to fully remove the old white coating and then re-gold them by hand with gold rub. They were finished in a clear coating.

Super Comfortable 3 Seater Lounge and side Table

The lounge was designed with curved arms and it has springs and extra webbing to give it a no sag look and feel, and provide super comfortable supportive seating.

We used three different types of foam and feathers in the cushioning.  This Lounge will still have it’s shape and comfort for many years to come.

The spotted gum side table was made to match the spotted gum dining table (see in next blog).  We designed the table with a turned centre leg and a solid top and base. This table fits well in the room, and brings the feel of timber into this space. Simple, elegant and perfect for ease to move and match all the pieces together.

Re: Matthew Hunsche, Finer Finishers

I have offered this reference voluntarily, not from a request.

My wife and I initially had a long conversation with Matthew Hunsche about a major demolition and renovation of our kitchen, two dated bathrooms and a laundry in our city apartment. The details of the conversation covered projected costs, timeline, professional experience, insurance, body corporate liaison, the oversight of a range of trades, interpreting the designer’s plans, amongst an even broader range of topics. We agreed to proceed with Matthew’s proposals.
My wife and I were overseas for 3 months during the project, but we know there was minimal disruption for neighbours, cooperation with the Building Manager, full physical protection of the rest of the apartment, plus regular texts and photos updating my wife and myself on progress at every stage.
We were really impressed with Matthew’s genuine personal style as well as his personal oversight over every detail of the renovations, including returning the whole apartment to an impeccably clean state.
When I returned from overseas and saw first-hand the quality of the work and how the apartment had been transformed, I was even more impressed.
There had clearly been obstacles that could have caused potential delays and cost over-runs, but they were averted because of Matthew’s persistence, professionalism, discriminating respect for the design, and adherence to our agreed parameters established at the outset.
I have worked with many architects, builders and designers over the years, especially in my role in developing a new University as a Vice Chancellor, and I can honestly say I have never experienced a higher standard of meticulous workmanship.
I would unconditionally commend Matthew to anyone considering these kinds of undertakings, for which he is demonstrably highly qualified, experienced and successful.

Our client was so impressed with our restoration work on their antique pieces of furniture they engaged us to make new furniture for their apartment.

The dining room table is built from Solid Spotted Gum, with a inlay top (in a uneven/even pattern) finished with a very flat polish.

The chairs, are also made from Spotted Gum, they hug your body, creating a very comfortable supportive chair. We covered them in a soft white leather to add to the comfort and look of the whole dining experience.

Our client wanted the living room furniture to look new, to bring a fresh sense of colour and life to the living area. Our team of french polishers  also age-painted the chairs to add to the look and feel. With high quality fabrics and our expert upholsterer we created the look our client wanted and they are very happy with the results.

Our brief was to make a fun bed, in a bunk style, so a friend could sleep over and include a desk and a bookcase.

We designed the bunks, desk and shelves to all fit snug and create an environment that was fun and practical.

We utalised the window light for the deskspace and included shelves at the end of the top bunk and nooks for favorite toys.

The funky ladder stairs to the top bunk were carefully designed for safety and ease of use.

Our client was very happy with the end result, and their child just loves sleeping in their room now and can’t wait to have sleepovers with friends.

The greatest pleasure was seeing his face light up when we had finished creating his new stairway to heaven.

We were asked by Wrightson Stewart Interior Designers to help them complete booth seating for a major club in the city.  We had to work within a small area to create more seating.  The back wall in like a wave wall, and the curve on each seat is slightly different so the booth flows within the space. The seats had to be soft, durable and supportive.

The lighting is controlled by an ipad from the booths, as the customer wishes.

Wrightson Stewart and the client are very happy with the Booth seating.

Working with interior designer Gary Hamer we custom designed and built an Amish Rolling Pin bed. Made from solid timber and the client had requested a black timber look, we achieved this with black 2-pac polyurethane. This bed compliments the room beautifully and creates a warm welcoming sense for night time comfort and slumber.
